It is our great honor to welcome a man whose courage, conviction, and commitment to faith have inspired people across the nation — Chief Kelvin Cochran. Known to many as “America’s Fire Chief,” Chief Cochran’s 34-year career in firefighting is nothing short of remarkable. He served as Fire Chief in two states, was named Fire Chief of the Year in 2012, and was appointed by President Obama as the United States Fire Administrator — the highest fire service position in the country. But in 2015, his career took a dramatic turn. After writing a Christian devotional in his personal time, Chief Cochran was fired by the City of Atlanta — not for job performance, but for his biblical beliefs. But this did not lead to silence or defeat. Kelvin took a bold stand for religious freedom leading to a landmark court victory and a $1.2 million settlement, reaffirming the First Amendment rights of every American. Kelvin now serves as senior fellow of the Colson Center and is the Vice President for Alliance Defending Freedom. #freedom #truth #family #southdakota
